The Radish Rejects

Today was once again, "Radish Seedling Thinning Day." I'm still learning this whole edible garden thing and it might be completely wrong not to do it all at once but if I did do it all at once, there's no way I could feed all of the rejects to my hamster. So, today's rejects numbered eight. Four of them I deemed unfit for even hamster food so into the compost pile they went.

These are the four that my hamster got to snack on. I thought it'd be a perfect opportunity to record what the seedlings look like. I think this is about a week and a half after sprouting. They're supposed to be ready to eat in two months time. Not doing too bad so far.
This is a closer look at the roots. You can see one of these seedlings was starting to form what will in around two months be a radish. I'm excited to see this in one of the reject plants because I can only imagine how good the roots are for the stronger plants.
